What's new on Netflix Australia for January 2020

As the number of shows and movies available to stream in Australia continues to grow at an impressive rate, it can be tough to keep up with all the new additions to each streaming service each month.

We've all come to anticipate a new stable of Netflix Originals releases each month, but figuring out which shows they are and when exactly they become available isn't so easy. And what about the large number licensed shows and films that are made available to stream, if only for a limited time?

In an effort to keep you informed of the best shows and movies that are in the process of being added to Netflix, we'll be bringing you an updated list of what you can expect on the service on a monthly basis.

Not only that, we'll also be singling out the biggest releases, as well as a number of quality TV shows and films which we believe deserve your Netflixing time.

So get ready to kick off the new year with an epic binge – here's what's new on Netflix in January 2020. Check out Netflix's newest offerings below!

TV shows highlights for January 2020

Bojack Horseman: Season 6 (Part B) (31/1/2020)

BoJack Horseman

Netflix's fantastic animated dramedy BoJack Horseman is wrapping up with this second half of season 6, and we're expecting one hell of a finale. After a stint in rehab, BoJack has taken a position as a professor at an acting school. Will our favourite troubled horse actor finally get his happy ending?

Spinning Out (1/1/2020)

Spinning Out

Looking somewhat like an ice skating version of Black Swan, Spinning Out sees a competitive skater (Kaya Scodelario) face family issues and her own inner demons as she struggles to revive her career after publicly choking. We're expecting this Netflix Original series to get dark.

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3 (24/1/2020)

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: Part 3

It may not have had a Christmas special this year, but we won't have to wait much longer for more Chilling Adventures of Sabrina! Part three sees Sabrina (Kiernan Shipka) return and get up to all sorts of mischief. Okay, we don't know exactly what the show has in store for us this season, but we're sure it will be darker than ever before!

Movies highlights for January 2020

Uncut Gems (31/1/2020)

Uncut Gems

Critics are raving and there's serious Oscar buzz about Adam Sandler's performance in Uncut Gems, the new film from The Safdie Brothers, directors of the utterly fantastic thriller Good Time starring Robert Pattinson (which is also on Netflix – seriously, check it out). Uncut Gems sees a fast-talking New York City jeweler (Sandler) with enormous debts risk everything with a large number of high-stakes bets in a last-ditch attempt to stay afloat. We've heard reports that Uncut Gems is one of the most anxiety-inducing films ever made, and based on Good Time, we're willing to believe that claim.
